ER apartment | apartment interior design | oca architecture studio

TEAM PROJECT: Guilherme Nogueira, Maurício Ambrosi Rissinger, Tiago Scherer, Daniel Dagort Billig, Yasmin Feijó Jaskulski, Sophia Frantz do Amaral, Alessandra Mello.

Protagonist kitchen, spatial amplitude, and functional organization. These were the guidelines of the ER Apartment. The challenge was to intervene in a 50's apartment, where some spaces were very segmented and didn't fit the new owner's needs. The strategy was: the kitchen would be the central piece and after that, it would be organized the circulations areas. With the intervention, it was found a concrete structure in a good state, and also the beautiful wooden floor that was restored. The path of the old walls can still be perceived after the intervention as a memory of what it once was.

Between the services and the social area was located a dark volume which works as a focal point of the project. The home office space was positioned in the intimate area and a wooden panel separates it visually from the main bedroom. The materials of the project are black, wood and concrete without many woodwork details so that the restored wooden floor and the composition with the cement, which fills in the gaps of the old walls, could gain strength.  A surprise of the project is the social bathroom, which stands out by graffiti street art.
